What to read right now…

Everyone’s talking about gold! Here’s something that puts the commodity as an investment into perspective.

Meanwhile, geopolitical tensions top the list of concerns for investors.

On a different note, singletons are less likely to invest than couples as they get older because of the “single tax”.

Finally, a fun read exploring how you can profit from referral schemes. Maybe profit is the wrong word here but you know what I mean.

The deal that’s a steal…

One for families: if you stay at Chessington World of Adventures Resort between 20 March and 26 June this year, you’ll get a Merlin Essential Annual Pass* for everyone staying as part of the package.

Prices for the stay start from £72pp – and you only need to stay for one night – but the Merlin Essential Annual Pass will let you visit over 20 Merlin attractions around the UK for a whole year.

That includes places like Alton Towers, Legoland and more.

You have until 1 March to book your stay but of course once the rooms are sold out then that’s that.

If you only do one thing…

Consider opening a Lifetime ISA if you’re aged between 18 and 39.

The government has confirmed that the LISA will be scrapped and replaced with a version that you can only use for buying a home and not for saving for retirement.

I’m a big fan of using the LISA as a pension alternative, so I’m definitely sad to see it go.

While the replacement won’t come in until at least April 2028, having an extra year or two of government top ups certainly can’t hurt.
