What to read right now…

Long term financial resilience falls as short term financial resilience rises* according to a new report. Basically if you have limited funds, you’re only thinking about shoring up your short term finances (savings) and not the long term (retirement).

It’s not necessarily a bad thing – as long as you’re able to transition into long term thinking at some point. With that in mind, I’m resurfacing this piece on building up your financial resilience and this guide to creating your own financial plan.

Meanwhile, more Brits have been scammed by fake celebrity ads than people from any other nation.

If you’ve fallen victim to a scam, here’s what you can do to try and get your money back.

And finally, some banks won’t let you reopen an account with them if you leave – that’s worth bearing in mind if you’re hoping to take advantage of a bank switching offer.

The deal that’s a steal…

Marc Jacobs Dot Eau de Parfum

Allbeauty* is currently having its mid-season sale, with up to 50% off RRP.

But actually, there are some great deals on there that saves you even more.

Take the 100ml Marc Jacobs Dot Eau de Parfum* for example.

It normally retails at £99 but is currently available for just £29.95 – that’s a saving of £69.05.

And an actual freebie…

If you use LinkedIn, you’ve probably come across LinkedIn Learning, their online courses hub that’s geared towards career progression.

They charge a monthly subscription for it, with prices starting from £29.99 a month, although they do offer a free trial.

However, some of the courses in the hub are completely free through brand sponsorship.

Many are found under the Learning Path channel, and include courses like this one from Microsoft on how you can use generative AI in your day job.

Have a browse – the available options might surprise you.

If you only do one thing…

Join Money Talk’s new WhatsApp channel.

And when I say new, I mean at the time of writing it has absolutely zero members. So please, go and give it some love if you can.

Unlike say Facebook or Twitter, no one can see who’s joined.

I won’t have access to your names, photos, numbers or anything like that – it is very much anonymous.

What can you expect? Well it’ll be last minute snippets that don’t make it into the newsletter.

Oh, and I promise I won’t bombard you with messages. Expect at most one post per day.
