What to read right now…

The 2025 Autumn Budget is here in full if you want to give it a proper read.

But if you can’t be bothered or simply don’t have the time, here are the highlights.

This round up of items in the small print is a good addendum – it includes how self employed workers will be affected and changes to the Lifetime ISA.

There’s also this sketch of how different types of households will be affected.

And for investors, here’s a neat analysis of what it means for the UK stock market in the near term and in future.

The deal that’s a steal…

Bistro Work Clog

I’m a recent convert to Crocs.

I needed some water shoes for kayaking in Canada and, as it turned out, they were the best value I could find with just a couple of hours spare in Vancouver.

Anyway, they’ve got up to 50% off a bunch of different styles in their Black Friday sale*, and free delivery plus an extra 10% off at the checkout.

So something like the Classic Clog* comes to just £36.44 delivered to your front door. The more comfortable Bistro Work Clog* comes to the same price.

If you only do one thing…

There are a couple of big policy changes that will affect savers in the next year or so.

The Lifetime ISA is expected to be scrapped after a consultation in 2026.

I’m a big fan of it for retirement saving so will definitely be topping up my pot before it goes.

The allowance for cash ISAs will also be reduced to £12,000 for most people from 2027 to encourage more people to invest.

It’s still some way off but if you’re not already investing, here’s a guide on how to get started.
