What to read right now…
Women are missing out on free money because they’re not opting into work salary sacrifice schemes.
You can actually use salary sacrifice to boost your take-home pay, although of course not all employers offer the scheme.
On a different note, Halifax is axing its savers prize draw from September.
Fortunately there are plenty of other options if you’re looking for a savings account with a prize draw element.
And finally, here’s a fabulously detailed guide to digging out potential issues before you buy a home.
The deal that’s a steal…

It is scorching. And if you’re craving ice cream all day long, why not make your own?
It’s healthier, potentially cheaper and can be surprisingly quick to do.
At the moment the ProCook ice cream maker* is part of the brand’s 20% off sale, which means instead of paying £49 you’ll pay just £39.20.
It promises to make ice creams and sorbets in just 45 minutes, although you do need to freeze the ice cream bowl overnight.
These are, by the way, the most affordable types of ice cream makers – the ones that don’t need freezing the ice cream bowl first will cost many times the price.
If you only do one thing…
It’s summer holiday season, which almost inevitably raises the possibility of flight delays and cancellations.
Before you head off somewhere fabulous, make sure you know your rights if and when that happens.
You might be able to get compensation when your flight is delayed, for example. There are also similar rules if your flight gets cancelled.
And of course it pays dividends to read the small print on your travel insurance policy.
