What to read right now…

Low deposit mortgages are seeing a bit of a boom – there are more of them available now than any time in the last 17 years.

On a different note, about 18 million people will become “new” income tax payers by the 2027/2028 tax year – almost half of these will be pensioners so I guess more returners than new.

Meanwhile, there’s a lot of confusion about the State Pension, with half of UK adults unsure how much they’ll get and a third confused about when they can expect it.

It’s a good time to wheel out this State Pension guide.

The deal that’s a steal…

Illamasqua* is currently having an Easter flash sale with huge discounts across the site, with everything reduced to either £5 or £10.

There are huge savings to be made but the biggest one I spotted was for their Skin Base foundation*.

It normally retails at £33 but it’s currently just £5, and there are still lots of shades left.

I’m personally a fan of their Antimatter lipsticks*, which are heavily pigmented and stays on for hours (days, really).

These are also currently £5.

And an actual freebie…

Kew gardens are back with their Community Open Week in May, with free entry into the gardens every day between 14 to 18 May.

There are various activities planned but you can explore at your own pace as well.

Tickets normally start from £22 for adults so this is a really great saving.

The weekend dates are already fully booked though, but weekdays are still open.

If you only do one thing…

Give the Money Talk Facebook page a quick like. I am of course assuming here that you read and like Money Talk.

The Facebook page where I (low effort) share all of the new posts when they come out, and also resurface links to old posts that are still worthy of a read.

It’ll take you two seconds but it’ll help other people discover Money Talk.
