What to read right now…

Young people do have it worse, it seems, as more are living at home vs previous generations.

Meanwhile, 36 is apparently when many people start thinking about their pensions.

On a different note, it seems most people can’t spot a pension scam.

Here’s an interesting read on what the choice between a guaranteed £50,000 or 50% chance of netting £1million says about you. I think the comments section for this piece is particularly insightful.

And finally, an interesting look at how the predictions market could hit the UK.

The deal that’s a steal…

My current obsession is Joybuy*.

Since finding out about them at the end of June, I’ve already gone back a few times.

It’s like the new Temu but with super fast shipping – in some cities, you can get same day delivery if you order by 11am – and stuff that you would actually want to order regularly.

I mostly use it to buy groceries as it’s cheaper than Tesco’s and stocks stuff that I can’t find elsewhere but it also sells electronics, beauty products and clothes.

Anyway, go check it out.

If you only do one thing…

There are some really great savings accounts at the moment, including two regular savers that pay 8% interest.

One is with Lloyds Bank and the other is with the Bank of Scotland.

There’s some fine print to consider, like whether you’ve opened an account with them recently, but if you qualify then it’s well worth signing up.

Even if you don’t qualify, it’s a good time to shop around to see what else is available.
