What to read right now…
There’s a new buzzword in town and it’s quiet debt – it’s the quicksand of debt where you slide in without realising until it’s too late.
On a different note, chargeback fraud is on the rise. This is basically where you make a purchase but then request your money back via chargeback from your bank while still pocketing the goods (or services).
Tangentially, people are cutting back on spending in a big way. If that’s you, you might want to try a no spend challenge.
Meanwhile, bank switching is going through a boom. Read this guide on things to look out for before you do it.
Finally, a deep dive into why markets are going up even though things are falling apart.
The deal that’s a steal…

Preparing for a summer of travel? Mountain Warehouse* has a mid-season sale on at the moment with lots of discounts across clothes, footwear and gear.
I popped into an actual shop on a recent trip to Vancouver and picked up two 15L dry bags for around £16 – they were buy one get one free.
That deal doesn’t appear to be online but there are plenty of others, like their own brand microfibre towel*, which is just £10.99, down from £22.99.
As an aside, I recently bumped into someone wearing the same hiking shoes as me in Alaska. They were also from Mountain Warehouse.
If you only do one thing…
