There’s a charity that offers free holidays for struggling families that might not be able to have one otherwise.

The Family Holiday Charity is funded by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to the tune of £600,000.

This year it’s working with Visit England to provide free holidays in England that will cover travel, accommodation and food (through vouchers).

To be eligible, you have to be on a low income (household income of less than £24,000), haven’t had a holiday together in the last four years and have at least one child under the age of 18 who will go on the break.

You can’t apply for the holiday for yourself though – eligible families have to be referred by someone else.

And that someone else has to be supporting the family in a professional capacity, for example if they’re a support worker, social worker, teacher or a health visitor.

Do consider passing this on to someone who might be eligible to be either a referrer or for one of the holidays.
