What to read right now…

Top UK firms are cutting jobs at the fastest rate since 2021, and it’s been attributed to the recent National Insurance contribution rises.

Meanwhile, Lloyds Banking Group is reviewing the productivity of thousands of employees, with those under-performing expected to lose their jobs. Lloyds may be high profile in this move, but it may also be a sign of things to come as businesses try to improve efficiency in light of higher costs.

On the flip side, employees are increasingly “revenge quitting”, that is, leaving their hated jobs with a (social media) flourish.

It’s not surprising when we’re apparently all quiet cracking.

On a different note, the gender pay gap in the UK may be wider than people realise because the Office for National Statistics uses data that gives more weighting to bigger firms – and these firms often have smaller salary differences between men and women.

The deal that’s a steal…

Calvin Klein Euphoria Eau de Parfum for women

Superdrug* has big discounts on fragrances at the moment.

Most of them are around 20% off, but some are upwards of 60%, which is an absolute bargain – and cheaper than duty free.

One of the best deals I spotted was for the Calvin Klein Euphoria Eau de Parfum for women*.

A 100ml bottle would normally retail for £87 but it’s currently selling at £28, which is 67% off.

If you only do one thing…

Check out Santander’s Open Academy if you’re in the market for a new job.

It’s a website that mixes free online courses, information on scholarships, competitions and more – all designed to give your career a boost.

It’s quite ranging so there are resources for those who are graduating and those who are already mid-career.

I’ve just signed up for the Spanish language course.
